PTMS magnetic separation
Which metal cannot be separated by magnetic separation?
Magnetic separation techniques combined with high temperature superconductor magnets have been studied to purify groundwater from coolant systems already used in incinerators to cool combustion gases. The experiment has been carried out by a new alternating channel magnetic separation device. A high gradient magnetic separation method has been used to estimate the separation ratio of ferromagnetic flocs including fine magnetite powders in which small iron spheres are filled in water passages. Because the magnetic force acting on the magnetic particles is given by the product of the magnetization strength of the material and the magnetic field gradient, and because the ferromagnetic stainless steel ball generates the magnetic field with a steep gradient around it in the strong magnetic field, the system shows quite excellent performance in separation ratio. The separation ratio of flocs containing magnetite powder was greater than 50, and the PPM was maintained above 80% when the flow rate was less than 5L/min.
