what is magnetic separation process?
Raw sand containing iron in the form of substantially pyrite is used for several weeks by pouring the leached glass grade sand, followed by abrasion and two-stage classification. Analysis of the sand by X-ray fluorescence analysis (RFA) showed an average of about 420 ppm Fe. The purpose of this survey was to reduce processing time and total iron content in special glass application sand products below 105 ppm. The combination of chemical and physical methods has been studied due to the different proportions of sulfides and iron oxides present in the raw sand. Leaching is carried out at different acid concentrations, followed by surface cleaning by neutral and alkaline wear and gravity separation. In addition, the effect of continuous addition of H2O2 during leaching to remove iron from sand was studied. Only two days of leaching was required at an initial acid concentration of 25 g/l. After leaching the sand and grinding the wood, a product containing 84 ppm of iron was obtained. Regenerated sulfuric acid can be used for leaching by continuously removing dissolved metals by adsorption with activated carbon. When recycled, the amount of fresh sulfuric acid required was 0.4 kg/ton of quartz sand.
