what is magnetic bead separation?
The reason why magnets can produce magnetism is the role of electromagnetic force. The composition of an atom has two parts, one is a positively charged nucleus, and the other is a negatively charged electron at the periphery of the nucleus. Electron spins produce a spin magnetic moment that produces a magnetic field. On the other hand, the movement of electrons outside the nucleus in orbit produces an orbital magnetic moment, which also produces a magnetic field. In addition, the spin of the nucleus also has a spin magnetic moment, which also produces a magnetic field. The various magnetic moments in an atom combine to produce a total atomic magnetic moment, and the order of the atomic magnetic moment determines whether the substance is magnetic. If the magnetic moments in the atoms are superimposed on one another, the atomic magnetic moments are highly ordered, which creates a magnetic field that makes the material magnetic. Such a substance is what we call a magnet. The most common magnet is mainly composed of triiron tetroxide. On the other hand, if the magnetic moments in the atoms cancel each other out, the atomic magnetic moments are arranged out of order, so that the magnetic field cannot be generated and the substance is not magnetic. Under the action of the magnetic field generated by the magnet, the atomic magnetic moment arrangement of iron changes from chaotic to ordered, thereby being magnetized and generating a magnetic field. In this way, electromagnetic force can be generated between the magnet and the iron, so the magnet can absorb iron. For other substances that magnets cannot attract, their atomic magnetic moments do not change from chaos to order under the action of a magnetic field, so that magnetic fields cannot be generated, so they cannot be attracted to the magnet by electromagnetic force.
