PTMS magnetic separation
how to separate two magnets ?
At present, there are about 300 kinds of iron-bearing minerals found in nature. According to their chemical composition, iron ore can be divided into magnetite, hematite, limonite and siderite; The specific magnetic susceptibility of the material, iron ore is divided into ferromagnetic and weak magnetic minerals, which provides a basis for the choice of iron ore sorting process. The ore processing techniques of iron ores of different nature are naturally different.
01 Single magnetite ore The majority of iron minerals in single magnetite ore are magnetite. Because magnetite ore is simple in composition, strong in magnetic properties, easy to be ground and easy to choose, weak magnetic separation is often used. When the grinding particle size is greater than 0.2mm, most iron ore magnetic separation plants usually use one stage of grinding-magnetic separation; when the grinding size is less than 0.2mm, two-stage grinding-magnetic separation is used; if it is in the coarse grinding stage, it is qualified. For tailings and iron ore magnetic separation plants, a stage grinding-magnetic separation process should be adopted; for dry and water-deficient areas, the iron ore dressing plant may consider a dry grinding-dry magnetic separation process.
02 Multi-metal magnetite ore containing polymetallic magnetite Ore gangue minerals often contain silicate and carbonate minerals, cobalt pyrite, chalcopyrite or apatite, etc. It is recommended to use weak magnetic separation-flotation combined process That is, the use of weak magnetic separation process to recover iron first, and then use the flotation process to recover sulfide or apatite, which is conducive to obtaining higher mineral processing indicators. Generally, the weak magnetic separation and flotation combined process is also divided into weak magnetic separation-flotation, flotation-weak magnetic separation. The difference between the two processes is that the magnetite and sulfide have different orientations. In the weak magnetic separation-flotation process, the continuum mainly enters the iron concentrate. In the flotation-weak magnetic separation process, the continuum enters the sulfide concentrate. It is shown that under the same grinding particle size, the first flotation and magnetic separation combined process can obtain iron concentrate with low sulfide content and sulfide concentrate with high recovery rate.
Weak magnetic iron ore
01 Single weak magnetic iron ore Single weak magnetic iron ore mainly includes hematite ore, siderite ore, limonite ore (mirror iron) - siderite ore. Because of the variety of minerals involved and the wide range of inlay sizes, the beneficiation method will be more complicated, often using re-election, flotation, strong magnetic separation or a combination process. The flotation process is mainly used to select fine-grained, particulate weak-magnetic iron ore, including two processes: positive flotation and reverse flotation. Among them, the positive flotation process is suitable for quartz hematite ore without free floating gangue, and the reverse flotation process is suitable for ore that is easy to float. The re-election process and the strong magnetic separation process are mainly used to select coarse particles (2mm-20mm) and medium-grain weak magnetic iron ore. Among them, coarse or very coarse (greater than 20mm) ore is commonly used in heavy medium or jigging re-election process; medium-sized iron ore is treated by flow film re-election such as shaker, spiral chute and centrifugal concentrator; The medium magnetic ore strong magnetic separation process often uses a dry induction roller type strong magnetic separator. However, since the strong magnetic separation concentrate of most weak magnetic iron ore is not high in grade, and the re-election process unit has low processing capacity, the strong magnetic separation-re-election combined process is often adopted, that is, the strong magnetic separation process is used to discard a large amount of Qualified tailings, then use the re-election process to further process the strong magnetic concentrate and improve the concentrate grade.
02 Polymetallic weak magnetic iron ore containing polymetallic weak magnetic iron ore refers to phosphorus-containing hematite ore or siderite. Most plants will first use the re-election, flotation, strong magnetic separation or combined process to recover iron minerals, and then use the flotation process to recover phosphorus or sulfide. It is not difficult to see that due to the wide variety and complex nature, most iron ore will use a variety of mineral processing combined process to obtain the ideal beneficiation index. It is recommended that the mine owners must do a mineral processing test and rationally select the appropriate iron ore beneficiation process according to the results of the final ore dressing test report.
