Quartz sand of a mine contains 0.061% of mineral. Through comparison of various process schemes, it is determined to use spiral chute PTMS magnetic separator and centrifugal separator (the test material is directly into spiral chute without desamming, and the overflow of spiral chute is separated by centrifugal separator) to obtain 0.242% coarse concentrate containing quartz sand and 41.4% recovery.

The process scheme of "pre-roughing by spiral chute PTMS magnetic Separator and regrinding flotation by rough concentrate" was used to recover minerals from tailings of a concentrator. Concentrate containing 30.45% mineral and recovery 52.17% was obtained, and the effective recovery of minerals in tailings was realized.

what is magnetic separation process ?

For a quartz sand tailings with 0.11% quartz sand content and 7.51% other content, the spiral chute PTMS magnetic separator gravity separation equipment is used for mineral roughing. After the roughing -- scavenging -- middling ore roughing gravity separation test process, the obtained coarse concentrate is desulphurized and flotation, and the quartz sand is roughed again by shaking table gravity separation. Finally, a crude concentrate with 32.16% mineral content and 30.29% recovery was obtained. Meanwhile, qualified sulfur concentrate with yield of 9.38%, S content of 45.89% and recovery of 57.28% was comprehensively recovered.
