The magnetic field intensity and working gap of PTMS magnetic separator are closely related to the granularity, magnetism and operation requirements of the raw materials to be treated. When the working gap is constant, the magnetic field strength between two poles depends on the number of ampere-turns of the coil. The number of turns cannot be adjusted, so the magnetic field strength is adjusted by changing the size of the current. The strength of the magnetic field depends on the magnetism of the material being treated and the requirements of the operation. Weaker magnetic field intensity should be used for processing more magnetic minerals and cleaning operations. Strong magnetic field strength should be used to deal with weak magnetic minerals and cleaning operations.

When the current is constant, the magnetic field intensity and magnetic field gradient can be changed simultaneously by changing the working gap of PTMS magnetic separator. So changing the current and the working gap do not have exactly the same effect. Reducing the working gap causes a sharp increase in magnetic force. The size of the working gap depends on the granularity of the raw material to be treated and the operation requirements.

Large for coarse grades and small for fine grades. When scanning, the working gap of PTMS magnetic separator should be adjusted to the minimum to improve the recovery rate. When selecting, it is best to adjust the working gap, reduce the non-uniformity of magnetic field distribution between the poles and increase the distance between magnetic particles to the tip of the disk, in order to increase the selectivity of separation, improve the grade of magnetic products, but at the same time to appropriately increase the current to compensate for the magnetic field intensity reduced by increasing the working gap.
