When affected by a magnetic field, all particles respond in a specific way, divided into one of three groups: ferromagnetic, paramagnetic or diamagnetic. Particles with very high susceptibility and strongly induced by a magnetic field are ferromagnetic. Particles with low susceptibility and weak response to magnetic fields are called paramagnetism, while particles with negative susceptibility (that is, non-magnetic) are called diamagnetism. PTMS magnetic separator can remove iron (FE2O3) inside.

High strength PTMS magnetic separators typically operate in areas over 5000 Gauss or Tetesla. Magnetic field gradient refers to the rate of change or convergence rate of magnetic field intensity. The higher the rate of change or convergence rate, the stronger the magnetic attraction.
