A floatation process for removing iron from PTMS magnetic separator without carrier
Magnetic separation machine
The purpose of the flotation operation is to float titanium impurities from kaolin and then remove iron by PTMS magnetic separator. Because the impurity particles are very fine, carrier flotation is usually used. Carrier minerals can be calcite, silica sand (-325 mesh), the amount of carrier minerals is generally 10%~20% of the weight of kaolin, part of the carrier can be reused.
PTMS magnetic separation
Reagents used in the flotation process include: dispersant sodium silicate, pH regulator amine hydroxide and caustic soda collector tal oil, fatty acids and calcium petroleum sulfonate. But flotation has many disadvantages, the hydrophobic carrier needs a lot of agents. Flotation PTMS magnetic separator process can only be effective at low pulp concentration, thus increasing dehydration costs. The added carrier must be removed from the clay product as much as possible. And recycled from foam products for recycling.
what is magnetic separation?
Chemicals and carrier minerals that remain in the clay are harmful to the final product. A carrier free flotation process that surfaces anatase directly from kaolin. It features a high slurry concentration (40% to 60% solid) scrub in the presence of a dispersant (e.g., sodium silicate) and a pH regulator (commonly used amine hydroxide), removal of surface dirt and then removal of iron by PTMS magnetic separator.
