PTMS magnetic separator process utilizes the diamagnetic properties of quartz sand
kaolin clay magnet requirements
Quartz, the main mineral in quartz sand, is diamagnetic and cannot be magnetized in a magnetic field. The impurity minerals containing iron in quartz sand: hematite, limonite, magnetite, goethite, etc., are mostly magnetic substances that can be magnetized in the magnetic field. This property difference is exploited in PTMS magnetic separator process to remove these iron-containing impurity minerals from quartz sand by magnetic separation.
PTMS magnetic separator
In order to achieve the purpose of removing iron minerals and separating magnetic minerals from non-magnetic minerals, the magnetic force acting on magnetic minerals must meet the following conditions: The magnetic force acting on magnetic minerals is greater than the combined force of all mechanical forces acting on magnetic minerals. PTMS magnetic separator process is divided into dry and wet separation. Taking the production process of quartz sand ore as an example, it is found that dry separation and wet separation are compared.
what is magnetic separation in Feldspar?
Wet high intensity magnetic separation has the defects of high power consumption of magnetic separator, easy wear of medium, large production water consumption, high operation and maintenance costs. Dry PTMS magnetic separator process is convenient to operate and has lower operating and maintenance costs than wet.
