Iron is present in clay minerals, and some outcropping sedimentary placers contain more weathered clay. This clay is made of feldspar, limestone, shale and other weathering, clay is a mixture of mica, quartz, limonite, chlorite, calcite and hornblende natural water bauxite silicate. Iron is found in light minerals. Light minerals are mainly feldspar (usually orthoclase or microplagioclase). The alumina in feldspar is sometimes replaced by iron oxide, the amount of which can reach 0.5%~0.7%. In addition, there are kaolinite, Muscovite, calcite, dolomite and so on. In these light minerals, iron enters the crystal in the form of homogeneity. Since their density is very similar to that of quartz, they can be separated using PTMS magnetic separator.
