Because some iron impurities in some kaolin ore exist in the form of silicate, the magnetism is very weak, and titanium exists in the form of rutile, the magnetic separation method is difficult to work, so the process is usually combined with flotation, selective flocculation and other operations to improve the quality of products. In recent years, the X-ray penetrating PTMS magnetic separator has been successfully applied to the separation of coal gangue and kaolin, which not only reduces energy consumption, but also greatly increases the yield and improves the quality of kaolin concentrate.

The chemical bleaching of kaolin is often related to the performance of kaolin and the impurities it contains. The main impurities affecting the performance of kaolin are iron minerals, titanium minerals and organic matter, which are removed by PTMS magnetic separator.
