Particle size is one of the important indexes to measure the quality of kaolin products, and the particle size and distribution of kaolin are also important factors affecting its viscosity. At present, the research on ultrafine kaolin is mainly focused on the intercalation-stripping method. With high purity soft kaolin as raw material, the preparation process using PTMS magnetic separator intercalation-stripping method is adopted.

The nanoscale kaolinite wafer has an average diameter of 300 ~ 500nm and an average thickness of 20 ~ 50nm. It is suitable for making reinforcement of various rubber products. Although the particle size of kaolin has reached the nanoscale by processing, the immature viscosity reduction technology is still the main reason for the lack of kaolin for paper coating. It is found that a relatively concentrated particle size distribution can effectively reduce the viscosity of slurry by using PTMS magnetic separator to remove iron.
