The natural whiteness of kaolin produced in nature is often affected by minerals containing some organic matter and elements such as iron, titanium and manganese. Iron impurities in kaolin not only affect the color of ceramic products after firing, but also seriously affect the dielectric properties and chemical stability of ceramic products. The removal effect of weak magnetic minerals such as pyrite and iron-containing impurities in fine particles is not obvious by conventional physical dressing method. PTMS magnetic separator removes iron (FE2O3) from kaolin.

At present, the commonly used chemical iron removal methods of kaolin are oxidation, reduction and Chinese - reduction combined methods, of which reduction method is the most widely used. The specific method of adaptation depends on the type of iron minerals contained in kaolin.
