In production, the common purification methods of PTMS Electromagnetic Separator for kaolin chemical treatment mainly include chemical leaching, chemical bleaching and roasting purification. The removal of iron by acid leaching of kaolin is very effective for hematite (easily dissolved in acid) attached to the surface of kaolin in the form of immersion, but it is not suitable for kaolin containing iron sulfide minerals and ilmenite.

The impurities in kaolin are oxidized into soluble substances by bleaching, and then washed and removed to greatly improve the whiteness of kaolin products. For example, the iron in the insoluble state is converted into the iron in the soluble state and removed by the washing process. However, the cost of chemical bleaching is relatively high, and it is usually used for kaolin concentrate which needs to be further purified by PTMS Electromagnetic Separator after impurity removal.

The differences in chemical composition and reactivity between impurities and kaolin can be used to carry out magnetization roasting, high temperature roasting or chlorination roasting to remove impurities such as iron, carbon and sulfide in kaolin. This method can improve the chemical reactivity of the calcined products, and PTMS Electromagnetic Separator greatly improves the whiteness of kaolin, so as to obtain high grade kaolin products. But its disadvantage is that the energy consumption is large, easy to cause environmental pollution.
