Due to the complex composition of iron in kaolin and the limitation of magnetic separation technology and equipment, and only for magnetic minerals, the quality of iron removal by this method is still not ideal. However, with the development of superconducting technology, high gradient PTMS Electromagnetic Separator may remove weakly magnetic minerals more effectively and without pollution, while not damaging the crystal structure of kaolin and affecting its physicochemical properties.

The selective flocculation method is to add flocculant to the fully dispersed pulp, and through the bridging effect between the flocculant and the surface of the ore particles, the free harmful iron impurities dispersed in the pulp are selectively flocculated, and then the flocculant is separated from the pulp. A large amount of water (pulp concentration less than 20%) in the process needs to be removed in the subsequent PTMS Electromagnetic Separator process.

At the same time, the residual flocculant in kaolin concentrate also affects the quality of the final product. PTMS Electromagnetic Separator is a widely used method for bleaching kaolin containing a small amount of disseminated and starpoint iron impurities, but the bleaching effect is not obvious when the ore contains a large amount of organic matter.
