There are various forms of existence in kaolin, according to the crystal state of iron, it can be divided into crystalline and amorphous forms. Fine particles are mixed with the crystalline part, and the amorphous part covers the fine grain surface of kaolin; the single PTMS magnetic separation iron removal process often has limitations.

According to the form of iron, it can be divided into Fe² and Fe³. Fe² is usually wrapped on the surface of kaolin in a thin film, and Fe³ exists in limonite in a free state. The presence of Fe ₂ O ₃ makes kaolin rose red or brown yellow, and Fe² makes kaolin light blue or light green. Iron minerals will become Fe ₂ O ₃ when forged at high temperature, making the kaolin yellow or brick red. Different iron forms choose different PTMS magnetic separation.

what is magnetic separation?

Magnetic separation method is not effective for some weak magnetic and fine embedded iron minerals; chemical method may have some impact on the physical and chemical properties of kaolin or the cost is high; flotation method may have efficiency problems in dealing with large-scale kaolin. The combined use of various PTMS magnetic separation processes can make up for their own deficiency and improve the effect of iron removal.
