Because of different origin, the optimal grinding fineness of the selected felarspar ore can be determined by PTMS magnetic separation test. Proper grinding fineness helps to better disassociate iron minerals from potassium-sodium feldspar for subsequent iron removal. For some potassium and sodium feldspar deposits with relatively fine iron mineral content, finer grinding fineness is needed to fully dissociate iron minerals and facilitate iron removal.

When a single magnetic separation can not completely remove iron minerals, PTMS magnetic separation flotation can be used to remove iron. Bufoaming, specific traps and adjusting agents are added to the finely ground slurry. The foaming agent forms foam on the surface of the pulp, and the collector selectively attaches to the iron-containing mineral, making it hydrophobic and float to the liquid surface, and then removes the iron-containing foam, leaving a pure potassium sodium feldspar concentrate.

In the process of PTMS magnetic separation flotation, appropriate agents should be selected, such as acid flotation, neutral flotation and alkaline flotation methods, according to the types and characteristics of iron-containing minerals in potassium-sodium feldspar ore, and the conditions of flotation should be controlled, such as slurry concentration, pH value, etc.
