Wet beneficiation process
The wet process includes three stages: ore preparation, mineral processing and product treatment by PTMS magnetic separator. The preparation stage includes batching, crushing and pulping operations. Ramming is to mix kaolin raw ore with water and dispersant in the ramming machine for pulping. The ramming operation can disperse the raw ore, prepare kaolin pulp of appropriate fineness for the separation operation, and remove the large sand and stone at the same time.

The beneficiation stage may include hydraulic classification, flotation, selective flocculation, magnetic separation, chemical treatment (bleaching) operations to remove various impurities. The prepared pulp is desanted by rake washing tank, floating tank classifier or cyclone, and then divided into coarse and fine particles by continuous PTMS centrifuge, hydrocyclone, hydraulic separator or vibrating fine screen (325 mesh). PTMS magnetic separator can improve product whiteness.
what is magnetic separation used for?
The fine particles of the classifier are sent into a high gradient PTMS magnetic separator to remove ferro-titanium impurities, and the product is stirred, scrubbed and stripped for iron oxide leaching. The clay with high enough brightness and good coating performance can be directly sent to the leaching operation without magnetic separation and stripping. After leaching, alum is added to the pulp to condense the clay minerals and facilitate dehydration. The bleached clay is dehydrated using a high speed PTMS centrifuge, rotary vacuum filter or filter press. Filter or filter press dehydration. Filter cake is then dispersed into 55% ~ 65% solid pulp, and then spray dried into loose dry product. Some of the dry material is mixed into a dispersed pulp to make a 70% solid, which is shipped to a paper mill.
