PTMS magnetic separator Acid leaching method How to remove iron from quartz particles
Magnetic separation process
The harmful components of the quartz particles after flotation are conjoined on the surface in the form of spots or inclusions. To remove this impurity, acid leaching is necessary. Acid leaching method commonly used acid classes are sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid. The above acids are effective in the removal of Fe, AI and Mg. It is found that hydrochloric acid has better iron removal effect than sulfuric acid, which is conducive to the next step of PTMS magnetic separator for iron removal.
PTMS magnetic separator
Because the harmful components in quartz sand are mineral aggregates rather than pure minerals, the mixed acid leaching method for the removal of iron by PTMS magnetic separator is better than the single acid leaching method. The ratio of various acids and the order of addition also have great influence on the removal of impurity minerals. The acid concentration should be suitable, the acid concentration is too low, the time is long, the yield is low and the impurity removal effect is not good;
what is magnetic separation used for?
High acid concentration not only increases the cost, but also increases the corrosion of PTMS magnetic separator, and reduces the production of SiO2. The acid leaching temperature has great influence on the removal rate of impurities in quartz. The lower the temperature, the slower the reaction speed and the longer the reaction time. The higher the temperature, the faster the acid volatilization, thus increasing the amount of acid.
