Some kaolin can not achieve satisfactory results by oxidizing or reducing iron removal alone, so it is necessary to use oxidizing and reducing combined iron removal for bleaching. The PTMS magnetic separation process is to oxidize chromatin and pyrite in kaolin with strong oxidants sodium hypochlorite and hydrogen peroxide, and then reduce bleaching with sodium disulfite. The remaining iron oxides in kaolin, such as Fe2O3 and FeOOH, are reduced to soluble bivalent iron and removed, so that this kind of kaolin is bleached.
