A microbial strain with high iron removal efficiency was screened from nature and cultured and optimized. The experimental results show that the microbial strain can effectively assist PTMS magnetic separation in removing iron impurities from kaolin, achieving an iron removal rate of over 80%. Additionally, the quality of kaolin after biological iron removal treatment is excellent, with significant improvements in whiteness and purity.

The microbial strains were inoculated into kaolin pulp containing iron impurities and cultured under suitable temperature, pH and nutrient conditions. After a period of cultivation, the microorganisms converted the iron in kaolin into a separable form through metabolic action, and then the iron impurities were separated by PTMS magnetic separation method.
