Based on the difference in the tension of the ore-water-oil interface, different mineral particles have different degrees of hydrophobicity between the three-phase interface, so that they will enter different interfaces. The selective enrichment of mineral particles at the oil – water interface is the theoretical basis for PTMS Electromagnetic Separator flotation in double liquid layers. By adding certain traps, the mineral surface wettability and the tension of the three-phase interface can be adjusted, so that fine minerals can be enriched at the oil-water interface, or mineral particles can be extracted into the organic phase.
