what is magnetic separation method for concentration of ore?
The separation process of PTMS electromagnetic separator is realized by means of magnetic force and mechanical force on the ore particles in the magnetic field of the separator. Different magnetic particles move along different trajectories to be separated into two or more separate dressing products.
The trajectory of recovered magnetic particles is determined by the ratio of the magnetic force and the mechanical force on the magnetic particles, while the trajectory of non-magnetic particles is determined by the mechanical force.
In order for the magnetic separation process to work normally, the magnetic force should be greater than the mechanical force and overcome the resultant force of the moving magnetic inertia as needed.
According to the magnetic classification, substances can be divided into two categories: diamagnetic substances and paramagnetic substances. From the magnetic point of view, minerals can be classified according to the specific magnetization coefficient, which can be generally divided into the following four categories:
1. Strong magnetic material: the specific magnetization coefficient is greater than 3000×10 6 cm /g, and it can be selected by a 0.15t (i.e. 1500GS) weak magnetic field magnetic separator.
2. Medium magnetic mineral: the ratio of magnetization coefficient is greater than 600×10¯6 cm /g ~ 3000×10¯6 cm /g, which can be recycled with a medium magnetic separator of 0.3 ~ 0.6t (3000GS~6000GS).
3, weak magnetic mineral: the ratio of magnetization coefficient is greater than 15×10¯6 cm /g ~ 600×10¯6 cm /g, it can be recycled with 0.6 ~ 1.8t (that is, 6000GS~18000GS) of strong magnetic separator.
4, Non-magnetic minerals: materials with a specific magnetic coefficient greater than <15×10 6 cm /g.
